この度、新たに保温性に優れた寝具用ポリエステル中綿　ft-DreamthermoTM　(読み：エフティドリームサーモ)を共同で開発し、寝具製品としてODM(素材から縫製品までの一貫した商品開発・供給)にて販売します。当社グループでは、寝具関連製品の売上高を本年度14億円、2016年度22億円と見込んでいます。
　今回、開発した寝具用ポリエステル中綿ft-DreamthermoTM　は、細さ(繊度)および断面形状の異なる複数の原綿をブレンドした中綿です。
繊維間に微細で複雑な空隙が形成され、空気層(デッドエア)を効率的に保持することで優れた保温性を発揮します。また、羽毛のような柔らかな触感を持ち、軽量、かさ高でありながら弾力性・回復性に優れています。
　当社グループでは、ft－DreamthermoTMを寝具製品として、大手寝具メーカーや寝装小売向けに販売します。
　羽毛原料は、保温性に優れかつ軽量で弾力性・回復性があることから、羽毛ふとんなどの高級寝具品の中綿に使われている素材です。当社グループでは従来から羽毛の持つこれらの特性に合繊の特長(洗濯可能、清潔感)を併せ持ったポリエステル原綿の開発を主要テーマとして取り組んできました。
　今春になり、羽毛原料は中国で発生した鳥インフルエンザの影響のため供給不足が深刻化し、また、円安も重なり価格が約2倍に急騰するなど、羽毛原料市場は非常に不安定な状況に陥っています。このため、寝具業界では、安定的に調達できる素材を求めるニーズが日増しに高まっております。
　東レは今回、新しく寝具用ポリエステル中綿、ftMicro(読み：エフティマイクロ)とftDual(読み：エフティデュアル)も併せて開発しました。当社は寝具用ポリエステル中綿のラインナップを拡充することで、お客様からの様々なニーズに対応し寝具市場での事業拡大を目指します。
